A fine and complete set of Gentz's anti-French periodical. Friedrich von Gentz (1764-1832) was a German diplomat and political writer. (Born a commoner, he was knighted by the crown of Sweden in 1804). A pupil of Kant's he was enthusiastic at the oputbreak of the French revolution, but soon changed his view and became a fierce and outspoken adversary, promoting Great Britain as the saviour from Napoleon's dominance, which made his position in neutral Prussia untenable.
