8vo. 260 x 175 mm. XI, (1), 234, (1) pp. 18 hand-coloured lithographed plates. Black later (20th century) half calf with gilt spine with red label and raised band, marbled boards with gilt filets and trimmed edges (Bookends). In flannel-lined marbled slipcase. Minor stains.
John "Mad Jack" Mytton (1796-1834), one of Britain's most notrious mavericks. Apperley was present when Mytton tried to cure his hiccups by setting fire to the shirt he was wearing.
